Washington County People Search Directory

Washington has 39 counties and each one runs its own Superior Court and County Clerk. The clerk holds the case files you need for a local people search. That covers civil, criminal, domestic, probate, and guardianship cases. Most counties feed their data to the Washington Courts Name and Case Search, which is free. Some also push cases to the Washington Odyssey Portal. A few big counties run their own portals.

King County and Pierce County have the biggest caseloads. King uses the KC Script Portal for e-filing and records. Pierce uses LINX for free public searches. Spokane County has its own Court Viewer for Superior and District Court info. The rest of the counties below route through the state Odyssey system for most superior court work.

Note: County Clerk offices keep the official court record, so certified copies always come from them rather than any online portal.

How to Use County People Search Tools

Start with a name. Pick the county where the case most likely lives. Then go to that county page for the right portal and clerk contact. If you do not know the county, run the state name search first. It points you to the court of record. From there you can order a copy or run a deeper search at the county level. Most counties let you look up by party name, case number, or case type. Fees for copies vary by county.

For criminal history that crosses county lines, WATCH from the Washington State Patrol is the right tool, not a county search. For vital records like birth or death, go to the state Department of Health. County offices do not issue certified vital records outside of marriage licenses.

Note: Always call the County Clerk before you visit so you know current hours, copy fees, and any ID rules for that office.
